Police in Georgia are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Waffle House.

Sgt. Michael Cheek with the Dunwoody Police Department said the incident began when a group of teenage girls ordered an Uber to take them home around 2:30 a.m.

"Uber driver arrives. When he arrives, he has a vehicle that will not fit all five of them in the car," Cheek said. "So all five of them try to get in the car, and he realizes he doesn't have enough room or enough seat belts for all of them to get in the car and be safe."

Investigators said the driver, 38-year-old Meredith Grundy, told the girls he could not transport all of them safely. That is when an argument began.
