INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are monitoring the availability of three key starters on the way back from injuries.

Wide receiver Alec Pierce , slot cornerback Kenny Moore II and nose tackle Grover Stewart are all expected to do some work on Wednesday, hopefully allowing them to return.

Pierce was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday last week, but he dealt with a recurrence of symptoms late in the week and wasn’t able to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol.

The deep threat is now ready to get back on the practice field, one of the final steps in the protocol before meeting with the league’s independent neurologist.

“He’s still in the protocol, but he will practice today,” Steichen said. Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play the USA TODAY Quick Cross now.
