SANDSTONE, Minn. (KPTV) - A jaguar once paraded for tourist photos at an Oregon roadside zoo has found a new home, and a new name, at a Minnesota sanctuary following a high-profile animal cruelty investigation .
The jaguar, formerly known as Lucifer and now called Louie, was among more than 300 animals seized earlier this year from West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon, Oregon. Authorities raided the facility after finding dead animals, drugs, cash and military weapons on the property.
Louie was one of 15 big cats rescued in the operation, four of which were relocated to The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota. Louie was the last cat to leave the Oregon facility, officials said.
