(NewsNation) — Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s final television appearance is being called “magical” by the show’s creator.

Ian Weir, who created the Fox series “Murder in a Small Town,” spoke to TVLine about Warner’s guest appearance on the show, which aired Tuesday.

“I was thrilled, of course, when he agreed to do the role,” Weir said. “I hadn’t quite let myself dare hope that someone of his stature would take this particular role, just because it wasn’t conceived as one of those big flashy guest star roles.”
