The Oklahoma State Board of Education plans to halt efforts made under former state schools Superintendent Ryan Walters to suspend, or in some cases revoke, the teaching certificates for 13 educators, including two targeted by Walters for political speech.
When the board meets Thursday, Oct. 9, it will consider dismissing the education agency's cases against Regan Killackey of Edmond Public Schools and Alison Scott of Ardmore City Schools, whose social media posts regarding President Donald Trump drew Walters’ ire. In addition to those regarding Killackey and Scott, the board will consider 30 other teacher licensing actions, according to the meeting agenda.
