KOCHI: Teachers are turning their backs on the post of LP and UP headmaster, fearing additional workload, including cleaning. It is said that if teachers become 'HM', they will get two increments and 'additional work'. Even if they work without considering the time, the reward will be just blame.
It is reported that more than 600 teachers eligible for promotion in LP and UP schools in the state have turned down the offer. Most of them are women. A primary teacher said that since there is no cleaning staff, they have to do work, including cleaning toilets. There is no fund for this.
