Trinity certainly turned a few heads last week when the team came from behind at halftime to hand Thomas Jefferson its first Big Six Conference loss this season.

But it hasn’t been all that long since the Hillers dropped the Jaguars. They did it two years ago, when they were in the Big Seven Conference the year before McKeesport moved over to the Greater Allegheny Conference and necessitated a name change.

This victory also had an eerily familiar feel to it.

When Trinity last defeated Thomas Jefferson in 2023, it did so with a 3-3 record and entered the game riding a two-game losing streak. This time, the Hillers were 2-4 and had lost two of their previous three before prevailing 33-22 in a game that dropped the Jaguars out of the top five in Class 4A.
