STATESVILLE — The Iredell County Health Department is informing local Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) participants about important changes following notice from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has notified state WIC agencies that no quarterly funding allocations for fiscal year 2026 will be issued because of the ongoing federal government shutdown. Based on current resources and USDA guidelines, the North Carolina WIC program has enough funding to continue operations, including food benefits, for approximately two weeks.
