The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory at 1:44 p.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene and Ulster counties.

The weather service adds to expect, "Temperatures as low as 30 degrees will result in frost formation."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," comments the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
