After over a decade and a half, Korean automotive giant Kia has decided to discontinue one of its best-selling subcompact cars.

In a press release on Oct. 6, the company announced that production on the Kia Soul would cease this month and be retired from production after the 2025 model year.

After debuting in 2009, over 1.5 million Souls have been sold in the United States.

Kia attributed part of its success in the country due to the Soul’s reception, noting that the company’s overall U.S. sales tripled during the car’s lifetime.
