The lines to snag the newest mini canvas tote bags from Trader Joe's have caused a Black Friday-esque frenzy.

The grocery chain launched the $2.99 Halloween-themed bags on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The product is available in several design options, including all purple, all black, all orange and a multi-colored version.

Footage obtained by USA TODAY shows lines wrapped around the corner at multiple Trader Joe's locations, with some customers lining up before 7 a.m.

In one clip, an employee laid down the ground rules for eager shoppers, "So you're allowed... one of each color per person."

Multiple videos on TikTok show people showing off their bags to their followers. One creator shared that her store had "a 10 bag limit."

Trader Joe's mini canvas tote bags are a hot commodity

Trader Joe's mini totes have become a viral craze amongst customers over the last year.

Widely circulated videos show long lines and chaos inside the grocery stores as people rush to grab a bag off the display.

The popularity led people to resell the items on online marketplaces, such as eBay and Facebook, for $500 or more, which, in response, Trader Joe's previously stated, was "done without our approval or authorization and outside the controls of our quality-minded supply chain."
