WASHINGTON — A Maryland man says had an unusual start to the morning after a tree fell on his car, barely missing him as he was driving down the road.
It happened on River Road near Western Avenue in Northwest D.C. around 9 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters and workers from Pepco were called to the scene after neighbors reported a tree down on a vehicle.
Firefighters were able to get the man out of his car unhurt. Power crews were working to restore power in the area since the fallen tree knocked down a power pole.
"I hear crunch crunch crunch and I ducked down... It landed all around me," the driver, Arthur Arnoff, told WUSA9. "It didn't break roof, it didn't break glass."
Arnoff said he's lucky to be alive.
