Michael Milton beat cancer three times and in a career spanning nearly 20 years won 11 Winter Games medals, so it's not hard to understand why he's backing himself to achieve a goal that would seem impossible to most.
At 52, Milton wants to be at the Milano Cortina Games in February representing Australia in what would be his sixth Winter Paralympics appearance, 20 years after his last tilt in Torino.
Inspired by comebacks of other older sport champions in recent years, it was after a day of skiing at Thredbo in August that Milton began to think how he might do the same.
Last month Milton competed at his first professional ski event in 19 years, and to his surprise, he claimed the giant slalom and slalom titles at the Para-Alpine National Championships.
