BENNINGTON — A Springfield, Mass., man accused in the summer of 2022 of an early morning drive-by shooting on Main Street in Bennington and the killing of an individual on Pleasant Street a month later pleaded guilty Wednesday to amended charges of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter.
Raul Cardona, 30, was sentenced according to the agreed-upon plea deal to a 7-15-year sentence, suspended, with four years to serve, and an 11-year probation with several conditions on the manslaughter charge, and a 4-10-year sentence on the amended attempted manslaughter charge, with four years to serve and an 11-year probation with conditions. Both sentences will be concurrent with credit for time already served. Cardona is scheduled for release in approximately a year. Local News
