LEESBURG, Va. (DC News Now) -- A Fairfax man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for a 2023 stabbing in Sterling, according to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Loudoun County.

William Joseph Addison, 39, was sentenced in the Loudoun County Circuit Court on September 25 to 55 years, with 25 suspended after he serves five years of supervised probation. Addison was found guilty by a jury in March of aggravated malicious wounding and stabbing in the commission of a felony.

According to court documents, shortly before midnight on February 4, 2023, Addison was inside a convenience store in the Sterling Town Center when the victim entered and began speaking to the clerk, with Addison falsely believing they were talking about him.
