SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said one man was arrested on charges of distributing child sexual abuse material.
The investigation began following multiple reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) stating that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was shared through the Kik messaging app.
The investigation led deputies to the house of 34-year-old Jordan Riley Cardinal in Pacolet. On October 8, investigators searched Cardinal's home, where he allegedly admitted to having multiple Kik accounts that he used to trade and distribute CSAM.
Cardinal was charged with 10 counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Cardinal is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Facility.
