SCHENECTADY — Persia Nelson attempted to sell food stamps for cash one week before her daughter Halo Branton’s death in March 2024, according to testimony from state police as on Wednesday in Schenectady County Court.

Nelson is on March 9, 2024, with Nelson accused of causing the girl to die of exposure and hypothermia.
