The Seattle Mariners will look to close out the Detroit Tigers when they meet Wednesday afternoon in Game 4 of the American League Division Series.

The Mariners, by virtue of their 8-4 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday night, are on the verge of advancing to the AL Championship Series for just the fourth time in franchise history.

The Mariners will send right-hander Bryce Miller (4-6, 5.68 ERA in the regular season) to the mound against the Tigers' Casey Mize (14-6, 3.87).

The Mariners have history on their side. In division series, with the current 2-2-1 format, teams leading 2-1 and playing Game 4 on the road have advanced 23 of 34 times (67.7%), closing out the series in Game 4 in 19 (55.9%) of those instances.
