EXCLUSIVE : A little over a year after Netflix landed the Silicon Valley drama Thumblite starring Rosamund Pike with a straight-to-series order, there is a major behind-the-scenes change at the corporate thriller. The series creator Scott Z. Burns has stepped down as showrunner, Deadline has learned. He will remain an executive producer as he focused on other projects he has in development, including writing the new American Psycho movie for director Luca Guadagnino.

The move comes after Thumblite had been in the writers room for several months, six according to some sources. There is no official replacement yet; I hear Burns’ No.2 in the room, K.C. Perry ( Severance ) is in negotiations to take over as showrunner.
