CLAY COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Hours after a jury recommended that Joshua Rocha will receive the death penalty, KCTV has learned that Rocha also faces child pornography charges.

According to the Clay County Detention Listing webpage, Rocha now faces five counts of possession of child pornography with a second offense of possessing more than 20 pictures/one film.

A spokesperson for the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed Rocha has been charged with those additional crimes -- along with his first-degree murder charge for the death of North Kansas City Ofc. Daniel Vasquez -- but said a judge sealed all cases involving Rocha to protect the integrity of his trial.

It remains up to a judge whether Rocha’s child pornography cases will be reopened for public access.
