The Temple Police Department has identified the person who was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler on Oct. 6 .

According to police, 45-year-old Alex Armand from New York died after being hit by an 18-wheeler while trying to cross I-35.

Temple Police said officers were called to the scene of a traffic accident near exit 298 around 3:38 p.m. on Oct. 6. When officers arrived, they reportedly learned that a person, now identified as Armand, had been hit by an 18-wheeler while trying to cross the road.

According to police, the driver of the truck was arrested for failing to stop and render aid.

Armand died on the scene, according to police.
