LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill is running for a second term, he announced Wednesday.

Voters first elected McMahill, who oversees the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, in June 2022. McMahill won the primary race outright with more than 50% of the vote, allowing him to assume the leadership position in January 2023.

“When I asked for your trust four years ago, I made three key promises: to take care of our officers’ mental and physical health, to fight crime with relentless focus, and to build the most innovative and technologically advanced police department in the country,” McMahill said in a statement.
