SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Wednesday, Oct. 8, marks eight days into the federal government shutdown, local health services in Siouxland continue operating without interruption, according to health officials.
Iowa’s Health and Human Services posted an alert banner on its website on Oct. 1 stating “No Impact on Services,” and the Siouxland District Health Director says that statement remains accurate.
Health Director Kevin Grieme addressed the Siouxland District board of health on Wednesday, assuring members that operations remain under control for now. He said the Iowa State Medical Director conducted a monthly statewide call with public health providers earlier this week to address concerns.
