NORTH HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - A freeze watch may threaten the growing season in parts of Connecticut.
A freeze was expected this week from Thursday night through Friday morning.
“I have rose bushes around the house in the front, in the back I have petunias, still holding on pretty strong... Perennials are the easy way out for the winter frost,” said Tia Rhinehart from Hamden.
Gardens and nursery centers are watching the forecast, but said people still have time with their plants, especially when it comes to hardier ones such as mums.
“If you have house plants, tender plants, you definitely want to bring them in before a frost,” said Rob Jacobson from Bell Nurseries in North Haven.
Jacobson has been in the plant business for 45 years.
