The Town of Blackfalds is reminding residents that the Northwest Area Stormwater Project will impact traffic and pedestrian travel as portions of the Trans Canada Trail are temporarily closed.

The project includes installing a new storm trunk sewer and developing a linear wetland system to improve drainage, enhance flood protection, and support future community growth.

Construction will take place from October through December, with detours in place for pedestrians and cyclists along Broadway Avenue and Aspen Lakes Boulevard.

The town says the temporary closures are necessary to allow for construction and hauling activities.
