HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - One man is dead after a shooting in the New Canton area of Hawkins County on Wednesday, according to Sheriff Ronnie Lawson.

The sheriff has identified the victim as 55-year-old Jerry Michael Davidson.

“A person of interest has been identified. Our agency is actively working to locate this individual. This appears to be an isolated incident,“ Lawson said.

Lawson added that investigators are following leads in the shooting.
