UPDATE: The Chattanooga Police Department officer indicted on a charge of aggravated assault is still employed and will continue to receive pay and benefits.

That's according to a spokesperson for the department.

Sergeant Worlie Dwayne Johnson is no longer allowed to represent himself as a CPD officer, though. He cannot respond to calls, wear his badge, or make arrests.

He is out on a $10,000 bond.

Last November, Sgt. Johnson participated in the 15th Annual Chattanooga Guns and Hoses competition , a boxing match between different first responders that raised funds for two different charities.
