P3R, the organization behind the Pittsburgh Marathon, has opened registration for its second annual Pittsburgh Parade Day Dash on March 14.

Participants can choose between a 5K and a one-mile Family Fun Run through Downtown, just before the city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, which begins at 10 a.m.

Given the Parade Day Dash’s high-visibility status preceding one of Pittsburgh’s iconic events, P3R CEO Troy Schooley said that he wants to build on the momentum of last year’s sold-out inaugural event and create a new tradition for the city.

“The Parade Day Dash embodies everything we believe in at P3R — fun, fitness, and celebrating our community,” Mr. Schooley stated in a release. “It’s a perfect way for people of all ages and abilities to start one of the city’s most beloved celebrations.”
