Gene Simmons is recovering after getting into a car crash this week.

The 76-year-old KISS bass player was in an accident just before 1pm on Tuesday afternoon (October 7) on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Calif.

NBC reports that Gene told first responders that he passed out or fainted while behind the wheel and hit a parked car. His car reportedly “careened across several lanes of traffic in the crash.”

Gene ‘s wife said that “he had recently changed medications and had to drink more water, which had led to him fainting,” according to THR .

A rep for the rocker said, “ Gene is fine and back to work already.”

Gene and KISS will be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in December.
