MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Cordova man is in federal custody for allegedly resisting Memphis Safe Task Force officers during a traffic stop in Parkway Village.

Luis Cordova, 26, who is also from Cordova, is now charged with forcible assault/resistance/impediment/intimidation of a person engaged in official duty.

According to the criminal complaint, a Tennessee state trooper pulled Cordova over for running a red light on Wednesday, October 1, outside Emilio’s Grocery located at 2757 Getwell Road.

Cordova told the trooper that he did not have his driver’s license on him. Members of federal law enforcement agencies with the Memphis Safe Task Force were also at the scene and assisted the trooper in gathering more information about Cordova.
