Bernie Parent, the Flyers' beloved former goalie who died Sept. 21, will be remembered by the organization with a jersey patch this season and a celebration of life ceremony next month.

The Flyers will sport the No. 1 — Parent's retired number — on the shoulder of their jersey, starting with the home opener Monday, Oct. 13, against the Panthers (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP). There will be a special presentation to honor Parent prior to the game.
