PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Dozens of folks from Rhode Island and Massachusetts got together Wednesday in Pawtucket to share in community, traditional food and their love of soccer.
The island nation of Cape Verde could make history by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time, and being the second smallest nation to ever do it.
"Cape Verde is small, but mighty," said Elizabeth Moreira, Pawtucket's deputy director of administration and a first-generation Cape Verdean.
Cape Verde's population is smaller than 600,000, but it's got a big cheering squad worldwide, including at the Dante Club.
