MONROEVILLE, Pa. —
Walmart and Cypress Equities must meet local and state criteria to receive $7.5 million from the Redevelopment Capital Assistance Grant program to put towards their proposed demolition of the Monroeville Mall.

"The request was for $7 million, and they would have to present 50 percent of that match," said Assistant Municipal Manager, MK Zonfrilli-Lang, on Wednesday.
Another requirement is that whatever replaces the mall must drive economic development for the region.
