In a case that could govern how United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents interact with protesters and the media, a federal judge is considering a temporary restraining order against the government.

The TRO is being sought by the Chicago Headline Club, the NABET broadcast union and a number of independent journalists in the wake of a series of reported attacks on protesters and the media by agents firing tear gas and pepper balls. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump are among those named in the filing.
