Department phone lines across the city of Idaho Falls remain down and are not expected to all be restored until Thursday.

According to an update posted Wednesday to the city's Facebook page, the cause of the interruption has been identified and repairs are underway. Those repairs are expected to continue into Thursday due to the extent of the damage that caused the interruption.
