Heavy rainfall affected southeastern Romania on Wednesday, including the capital Bucharest and the Black Sea port of Constanta and surrounding areas.

According to authorities, the village of Silistea was temporary isolated by flash floods and emergency workers assisted villagers, among them an elderly woman, to move to safety.

In several cities, including Bucharest, wind brought down trees, damaging parked vehicles and affecting traffic.

A code red warning for rainfall and strong winds was extended for the Black Sea area.
