TONASKET — Bridgeport claimed the boys’ team championship with 44 points Wednesday, Sept. 24, as Tonasket High School hosted a cross country meet. Republic finished second with 62 points, Tonasket third with 74, Lake Roosevelt fourth with 76, Omak fifth with 91 and Pateros sixth with 139.
Omak claimed the girls’ team score with 15 points.
Boys 5,000 meters
Lake Roosevelt senior Caden Portch won the boys’ race in 18 minutes, 31.14 seconds. Bridgeport junior David Jimenez placed second in 19:01.54, followed by sophomore teammate Luis Macedo in 19:08.00. Republic sophomore Ashton Gliddon was fourth in 19:26.56, and Tonasket freshman Owen Weddle rounded out the top five in 19:40.43.
Tonasket sophomore Logan Kester placed sixth in 19:42.04. Republic junior Reese Titus took seventh in 19:46.
