BREWSTER — After opening the season with two hard-fought losses, the Brewster Bears broke through in spectacular fashion Friday afternoon, rolling to a 55-6 victory over South Whidbey in a neutral-site matchup at Sultan High School.
The Bears, who were left scrambling for an opponent after Lake Roosevelt forfeited late Wednesday afternoon, made the most of their unexpected opportunity thanks to Sultan Athletic Director Chris Hill, whose efforts ensured the game could be played.
