It’s always a little tough sorting out the new cast members of Saturday Night Live , as this week’s guest host Amy Poehler learns the hard way in SNL ‘s latest promo.

The spot begins with newcomers Jeremy Culhane , Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska chatting on set – on the Weekend Update desk, actually – only to be a bit starstruck when Poehler (“She’s such a legend!”) wanders in.

Initially impressed that Poehler actually knows who they are, their high spirits are soon dashed when it becomes clear the former Weekend Update co-anchor hasn’t got a clue.

Poehler sells the cringe moment for all it’s worth, making up memories about the new kids to cover her tracks. She says to Patterson, “Remember when we used to tear it up back in 2005?” He responds, “I was six.”
