AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Canadian native, Ben Arbuckle, will make his way back to Texas as the offensive coordinator of the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. Arbuckle has taken the college football world by storm, as he and the Sooners are ranked No. 11 in the nation.
After a solid career as a quarterback at West Texas A&M University, Arbuckle quickly transitioned into coaching, earning recognition at multiple stops. His résumé includes building high-powered offenses at Washington State and Western Kentucky, where he coached several talented quarterbacks, including the 2025 No. 1 NFL draft pick, Cam Ward. He currently coaches John Mateer, who was a Heisman front-runner before a recent hand injury.
