In a post on Truth Social Wednesday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Israel and Hamas have agreed to phase one of the Gaza peace plan.

“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” he wrote.

Earlier in the day, Trump said a peace deal in the Middle East is “very close,” after officials from Israel and Hamas were cautiously positive about the prospects talks underway in Egypt would bring an end to the two-year war in Gaza.
