PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A 55-year-old man was sentenced to about 12 and a half years in prison on Wednesday for robbing a Portland bank while armed with a gun, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Aug. 27, James Michael Wallace of Portland pleaded guilty to one count of armed bank robbery.
According to court documents, while Wallace was on probation for a prior bank robbery conviction, he walked into a KeyBank branch on Woodstock Avenue on Feb. 28. He pressed a loaded gun to the bank teller’s torso and demanded the teller open the cash drawer. After taking $856, Wallace left his gun behind at the bank.
Wallace was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison, followed by five more years of probation. He was also ordered to pay $6,437 in restitution.
