NEW YORK -- Rick Pitino has apparently found his point guard for the 2025-26 college basketball season.
And he’s a knock-down 3-point shooter who is a natural two guard: Stanford transfer Oziyah Sellers.
“Oziyah is the point guard and Dylan [Darling’s] the backup point guard,” the Hall of Fame coach said Wednesday at a St. John’s scrimmage at Madison Square Garden.
The 6-foot-5 Sellers is deadly 3-point shooter who made about 40% of his shots from beyond the perimeter last season at Stanford where he averaged 13.7 points and 2.8 rebounds. He lit it up from deep during the scrimmage while also sharing ball-handling duties on the starting unit with North Carolina transfer Ian Jackson.
The move to point guard even surprised Sellers.
