SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A longtime local public address announcer recently took his game to the pro level.

If you've attended a Stampede game in Sioux Falls, you're no doubt familiar with the work of Randy Preston. But last week the Herd's public address announcer was behind the mic in the Motor City, working a pair of preseason games for the Detroit Red Wings.

"One of our USHL referees, Luke Gagnon, is a friend of mine. I've known him for several years. He's also the game day fan experience director for the Red Wings," Public Address Announcer Randy Preston said. "A little over a month ago, I get a text message from him. 'Hey, Randy, I've got some openings for some preseason games. Are you interested in coming out and doing some work for the Red Wings?'," Preston added.
