HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Harker Heights senior running back Jaylen “Munchie” Mason has earned the KCEN Week 6 Player of the Week title following a standout performance that helped the Knights remain undefeated in District 6A play.

Mason rushed for 125 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns in Heights’ 45-15 win over Killeen last Friday. The Knights improved to 2–0 in district play and continue to build momentum in pursuit of another district title.

“It’s a good feeling, but it’s also my team that helped me get to that point,” Mason said. “When I get into the end zone, I’m just thinking about what handshake I’m going to do with which teammate.”

The senior, affectionately known as “Munchie” by his teammates, earned the nickname from a former running back his freshman year.
