A male has died after an "unprovoked attack" in Richmond Hill on Wednesday and a suspect has been arrested, York Regional Police say.
The attack happened in the area of Lorraine Street and Bernard Avenue, near Yonge Street and Elgin Mills Road E., police said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Police were called to the area shortly before 5 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim with serious injuries. York Regional Paramedics took him in life-threatening condition to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His age has not been released.
The suspect was arrested at the scene. There are no outstanding suspects and there's no word on charges, police said.
