Leaders of a North Texas city are calling out their school district over questions of fairness in its plan to potentially close campuses.

Officials in Grapevine sent an open letter to Grapevine-Colleyville ISD questioning how the district has been managing its money and whether Grapevine residents’ voices were heard in drawing up the plan to potentially close some elementary schools.

“It was like Oh, this is already a done deal, shock,” said Grapevine mom Courtney Fray of her reaction to the district’s proposal to close up to two elementary schools to reduce costs.

Among the seven proposals for campus closures being considered by the district was a proposal to shut down Dove Elementary, where Fray has a third-grader.
