A man was accused of stabbing another following an argument in Santa Rosa Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Tuesday, officers said they responded to reports of a stabbing at an apartment complex on the 20 block of Third Street at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers report finding the victim, a 26-year-old man, suffering from at least one stab wound to his torso. The suspect had fled the scene prior officers’ arrival and the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.

The police department said witnesses identified the suspect as 27-year-old Robert Mendoza, who was a resident at the apartment complex. Officers were advised that Mendoza fled the scene after the stabbing and he also had an outstanding felony warrant unrelated to the incident,
