TOFTE, Minn. — Crews are battling a wildfire near a state park in northeastern Minnesota after firefighters detected smoke in a remote area near the Caribou River, according to fire officials.

The Minnesota Interagency Fire Center said the blaze was spotted early Wednesday afternoon near George Manitou Crosby State Park, which is located about 75 miles northeast of Duluth. At about 5 p.m., officials said the fire was approximately 30 acres in size, adding that multiple agencies were responding.

It's unclear what may have caused the fire.
