Police on Wednesday released more details into a crash that killed a Lancaster County high school basketball player over the weekend.

Police said Joey Williams, 17, was with another juvenile male in a vehicle traveling on Landis Road, a two-lane road with no shoulder, toward Greider Road about 2 a.m. Sunday when the vehicle left the roadway.

The vehicle traveled into a corn field, where Joey was ejected from the vehicle. He later died at a hospital. The crash occurred in the 1800 block of Landis Road in East Donegal Township.

The other juvenile was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. Police have not said which boy was driving.

Police did not release any further details and said they would not until the conclusion of the investigation.
